Volcanology

Volcanology is the science studying volcanoes and volcanism (volcanic phenomena) on Earth, but recently also on other bodies of the Solar System.
It is mostly regarded as a sub-part of geology, but has deep connections with other science disciplines as well: chemistry, physics, but also sociology, history, archaeology.
